Maybe the most renowned HR leader in the last century (Drucker) famously said, “The two most important functions of a company are marketing and sales.” Marketing seems so simple but it’s usually not. You offer an amazing service, sure you do. But do the right people know about it?
AI (Predictive Statistics)
Machine Learning is a misnomer; it’s more like Machine Training. Given the right use case, AI can be a game-changer for a company needing automation and is willing to sacrifice a bit on the front end (it’s quite economical given the scale).
Finance
Finance isn’t only about numbers. A good finance game will help you understand the economics of your business like nothing else can. A few fundamentals and a couple impeccably assembled tools can go a long way (we have a few tricks for both fledgling and mature companies).
Human Resources
Neglecting HR is like shooting your company in the gut — it’s extremely painful and takes a long time to heal (if it ever does). HR with Polestar includes: hiring strategy, training processes, documentation, organizational structure, performance and engagement, and RIFs (to be avoided if possible).
Operations
Everyone wants to look good online and have an attractive value proposition, but only the very best have an Ops program that fulfills the claims the company makes. But Ops is hard, which is why it’s not always done well. Remember the Fyre Festival? Don’t be those guys (they had zero Ops personnel).

The essential ingredients of a good model are meaningful and accurate inputs. Our philosophy is (a) subtract the noise, and (b) keep the minimum for the required insights. We can get deep and sophisticated or keep it quick and dirty — but we will always model for amplification and for utility, not out of ego.
